Limescale in appliances
According to a study conducted by the Water Quality Association (an international body representing water treatment professionals), hard water has a significant impact on the lifespan of household appliances (boilers, washing machines, dishwashers, coffee machines, kettles, irons, etc.).
Hard water creates limescale deposits on the components of these appliances, which makes them less efficient and considerably reduces their lifespan.
Limescale also restricts the flow of water by building up on shower heads and taps. The scaling of appliances affects its performance, increases the risk of breakdowns and premature failure and reduces flow rates. This in turn leads to increased energy consumption, higher bills and overall loss of comfort.
HOW TO REDUCE THE SCALING OF APPLIANCES
Simply reducing limescale in water as it enters the home has many benefits: appliances rid of limescale do not lose efficiency and have an increased lifespan. Shower heads and taps also take a lot longer to clog. Water softening is therefore a very effective method of gaining comfort and saving money each month!
